P. Raymond Bruckbergeret dont l\u2019histoire s\u2019inspirait librement d\u2019une nouvelle sign\u00e9e Gertrud von Le Fort et intitul\u00e9e La derni\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9chafaud. Adapt\u00e9e au th\u00e9\u00e2tre et au cin\u00e9ma, ce texte est un r\u00e9quisitoire contre la R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise et ses horreurs, que subirent notamment les religieux, soulignant son caract\u00e8re satanique. L\u2019histoire s\u2019inspire de faits r\u00e9els qui eurent lieu durant la Terreur : l\u2019ex\u00e9cution \u00e0 Paris, le 17 juillet 1794, de seize carm\u00e9lites de Compi\u00e8gne.
